The War of 1812
On account of these defects it is not expected that all the officers who took part in the defense of the Territory can be named, but so far as they are of record they are given, and it is presumed that at least those who were most prominent and held commands are mentioned.
REGULAR ARMY.
Brigadier General William Hull, commanding; Captain A. F. Hull, Aid-de-Gamp; Captain James Taylor, Acting Quartermaster General.
First U. S. Infantry.—Captains John Whistler and Daniel Baker; Lieutenant Dixon Stansbury, and Ensign Robert McCabe.
Third U. 8. Infantry.—Lieutenant W. Butler (Adjutant McArthur's regiment).
Fourth U. 8. Infantry.—Lieutenant Colonel James Miller; Captains Josiah Snelling, Oliver H. Burton, Charles Larrabee, and Charles Fuller; Lieutenants John L. Eastman, George Gooding, Lewis Peckham, John Baoon (Quartermaster), and Aaron W. Furbush.
