Twenty-Sixth Regiment Infantry

The pursuit of the enemy continued on the 7th, 8th, and 9th, and the regiment was in the skirmish line at the surrender of Lee's army, and through its lines General Grant operated with his flag of truce in arranging the terms of surrender.
From March 28th until April 9th, 1865, the regiment had been engaged with the enemy at Hatcher's Run, March 29th;

Sutherland's Station April 2d;
Amelia Springs, April 5th;
Deatonsville, April 6th;
