Twenty Seventh Regiment Infantry
On October 3d Colonel Fox having resigned, on November 12th following Lieutenant Colonel B. M. Cutcheon, 20th Michigan, was promoted to the colonelcy, but did not assume command of the regiment, being still in command of the 2d brigade, which he had held since October 17th, 1864, and which he continued to hold until March 6th, 1865, when be resigned.
On the 27th and 28th of October the regiment took part in the movement on the South Side railroad, but did not become engaged.
