Twenty Seventh Regiment Infantry
On the 17th and 18th it took part in the charges made on the enemy's works. Colonel Fox being wounded on the 17th, Captain E. S. Leadbeater succeeded him and continued in command during the 18th and 19th. On the 20th Lieutenant Colonel Wright again took command, and duty was commenced in the trenches. During the month of June the loss of the regiment was 21 killed, 149 wounded and 23 missing, including Lieutenant J. W. Brennan killed in the action of the 18th. These casualties occurred principally in the battles of
the 17th and 18th.
