Twenty Seventh Regiment Infantry
The fight was fiercest at the junction of these two corps, and General Crawford's 3d division of the 5th corps, General Carr's 4th division of the 2d corps, and General Stevenson's division of the 9th corps suffered the most heavily.
On the 12th of May the regiment was engaged at Spottsylvania Court House, losing 27 killed, 148 wounded, and 12 missing, Lieutenant John Armour being among the wounded, who died next day.
