Twenty Second Regiment Infantry
What remained of the regiment returned to camp at Rossville on the night of September 20th. On the 21st the regiment was ordered to the rear. On the 23d it encamped on Moccasin Point, ' on the north bank of the Tennessee river, seven miles from Rossville. It was engaged at this place in building fortifications and doing picket duty until October 28th, when it was ordered to the south side of the Tennessee river, to the support of General Hooker.
