Twenty Second Regiment Infantry
reached Rossville September 14th and encamped; September 17th, marched to Ringgold, Georgia, fifteen miles. September 18th, returned to Rossville. September 19th, moved out on road northeast of the Ringgold road three miles; at 12 M. crossed over to Ringgold road; here remained in line of battle until 9 A. M. September 20th, were ordered to the left to reinforce General Thomas; became engaged at 2 P. M. The result of this engagement is shown by the accompanying report.
