Twenty-First Regiment Infantry

We remained in this position about one-half hour, when we were again ordered and led by General Sheridan in person to-take position in line of battle upon the brow of the hill on the right of Hescock's battery,. and in the rear and support of the 88th Illinois Infantry, who were then hotly engaged. While taking this position our right wing was brought under fire, and it was at this time-our casualties occurred. After remaining for some time in this position we were ordered by yourself to form in line of battle in the cornfield
