Twenty-Fifth Regiment Infantry
Following is from the Louisville Journal touching the matter: " We saw yesterday a plan of the battle fought near Columbia on the 4th of July by the gallant Colonel O. H. Moore at the head of 200 men of the 25th Michigan, against John
Morgan's force of four or five thousand. Colonel Moore's repulse of a force equal to twenty or twenty-five times his own was one of the most chivalrous affairs on record. Though it is unquestionable history, it reads like the wildest romance.
