My brave, my noble men, it is with pride and pleasure that I congratulate you upon the ; victory won to-day. While you number but two hundred men, the enemy numered thousands Being advised of their strength, and of their advantage of heavy artil-bearing upon us, their demand for surrender was answered with a response that echoed the feeling of the gallant little band of the 25th Michigan Infantry that was about to engage them.
