') has had the misfortune to 'fail to connect, ' in other words has been captured, and is now paying his devoirs to Miss ' Libbie Prison, ' perhaps you will consider it no intrusion if another—an old friend—takes up his fallen mantle. Since the late operations in East Tennessee I have seen so much in the northern journals that was absolutely faIse— so much that was only partially true.
