TWELFTH REGIMENT INFANTRY

The 13th remained at Hayne's and Snyder's Bluffs until the fall of Vicksburg. On the 28th of July it embarked for Helena, Arkansas, in command of Lieutenant Colonel May, Colonel Graves being in command of the brigade. It encamped near Helena until the 13th of August, when it marched with the army from that point, and on the 11th of September went into camp near. Little Rock, having composed part of General Steele's command while investi-ing that place.
On the 26th and 27th of October the regiment moved to Benton, Arkansas.
During the year it lost three died of wounds and twenty-eight of disease.
