THIRTEENTH REGIMENT INFANTRY

The march commenced at about 5 P. M., the 10th Wisconsin taking the advance and the 13th Michigan bringing up the rear. Soon after the rebel cavalry followed. Company B of the 13th were ambushed and awaited the approach of the cavalry, numbering about 200, when a volley from Company B brought eleven rebs from their saddles; the rest fled in confusion back to Stevenson. The command inarched all night, arriving at Anderson Station at 3 A. M., and bivouacked. About 2 o'clock P. M. the same day the march was resumed,
