The regiment, after the battle of Chantilly, took up its line of march with its brigade for Fort Lyon, via Fairfax Station, reaching the fort on the 3d, and bivouacked on Hunting Creek, and then marched a short distance and encamped until the 10th, when it again moved via Fairfax Seminary to Fort Ward, remaining there until the 25th, when it broke camp and marched to
Upton's Hill.
