TENTH REGIMENT INFANTRY
Owing to an unaccountable delay in the payment of the regiment, it did not leave the State until the 22d of April, when, with a force of 997 officers and men on its rolls, it went to the field in command of Colonel Lum, and on reaching Pittsburg Landing, Mississippi, reported to General Halleck on April 28th, when it was assigned to the 2d brigade of General Pope's division, right wing, army of the Mississippi, then stationed at Farmington, in front of Corinth.
From May 8th following, until the 26th it was engaged in making recon-noissances and in skirmishing with the enemy, then holding a position at Corinth.
