at Frenier and De Sair Stations. On Sunday, the 22d, at 7 A. M., I proceeded with the command to Manehac Pass, leaving about one hundred men to guard this bayou and road in my rear.
"Arrived at South Manchac Pass at 1 P. M. the same day; at 6 P. M. four schooners and one small steamer, containing five companies of Colonel Smith's regiment, 165th New York Volunteers, one company of my own regiment, two rifled field pieces in charge of a detachment of the 9th Connecticut Volunteers, and a launch mounting one rifle, manned by a detachment of 9th Connecticut Volunteers, arrived.
