SEVENTEENTH REGIMENT INFANTRY

arriving at Alexandria on the 27th; on the 29th it reported for duty with the 1st brigade, and marched to Washington, D. C, thence to Tannallytown, where it remained in camp until May 22d, when it proceeded to Washington and participated in the great review of the Army of the Potomac on the 23d, returning to its former encampment the same day, and remained there until June 3d, when it was mustered out of service and in command of Colonel Swift started by rail for Michigan on the 4th; on the 7th arrived at Detroit, where it was paid off and discharged.
