NINETEENTH REGIMENT INFANTRY
A report of Major D. Anderson, commanding regiment, says:
' On the 16th of March the enemy was met near Averysboro, and a battle ensued, in which the regiment took an active and important part. The brigade to which the regiment was attached being ordered to assault the enemy's works, the order was gallantly and promptly obeyed, resulting in the capture of the works, the regiment capturing two pieces of artillery and many prisoners.
