NINETEENTH REGIMENT INFANTRY
The regiment remained near Savannah until the 1st of January, 1865, when, in command of Major Anderson, with a portion of the 20th corps, it crossed the Savannah river into South Carolina, moving up along the line of that river to Hardee's plantation, through Perrysburg and Robertsville, and on the 2d of February moved with the army on its march through South Carolina, crossing the Pedee river at Cheraw into North Carolina, arriving at Fayetteville March 11th, and after the complete destruction of the arsenal and other public buildings at that point,
