NINETEENTH REGIMENT INFANTRY

passing through Madison, where it assisted in destroying the railroads, bridges, factories, furnaces, mills, and every kind of property in that vicinity which could be made useful by the enemy; then moving to the right, directly towards Milledgeville, reaching there on the 22d, and again resuming the march on. the 23d, passing through Davisboro, Louisville, and Millen, after a long and fatiguing march reached Savannah, where it took an active part in the siege of that city until its evacuation on the 21st of December.
