Immediately following the publication of the order the Governor decided to; make the number of regiments three in place of two, and the 7th was ordered organized for the Camp of Instruction. MILITARY DEPARTMENT, MICHIGAN, Adjutant General's Office, Detroit, June 10, 1861

No. 30.
I. The field officers of the 5th and 6th regiments are hereby appointed. as follows: 5th Regiment-Henry D. Terry, Colonel; Samuel E. Beach, Lieutenant Colonel;
Henry Curtenius, Colonel; Thomas S. Clark, Lieutenant Colonel;
is appointed Colonel of the 7th regiment.
