Fourth Cavalry

Early in the morning of the 21st proceeding by a circuitous road to the right, via Jackson, the 7th Pennsylvania met the enemy's pickets and drove them through McMinnville. Colonel Park, with the 4th Michigan and 1st Middle Tennessee, moved down the railroad about two miles to a bridge. The 4th Michigan burnt the bridge, a quantity of camp and garrison equipage, and destroyed a large amount of quartermaster's stores and bacon; thence Colonel Park proceeded to Morrison, a point on the railroad where Colonel Long had earlier in the day burnt the depot and a train of cars.
