Fourteenth Regiment Infantry
Its casualties in the latter engagement were nine killed and 35 wounded. On the 7th of August the regiment assisted in taking two lines of rebel works, and driving the enemy from the field, killing and wounding a number, and taking 92 prisoners, suffering a loss of 8 killed and 27 wounded. In this affair Lieutenant Joseph Kirk was mortally wounded and died next day.
