Civil War Artillery
First Regiment Light Artillery
Colonel C. 0. Loomis is the envy of all artillerists. He is not only the quickest among them, but the most lucky of artillerists. On Friday morning the calm was broken by an attack being made upon his artillery in Rousseau's division, in which Loomis commands four batteries. They drove in our pickets with a small force of infantry, and planted two batteries on either side of the Murfreesboro road, and opened briskly on Rosseau's camp.
