Civil War Artillery
First Regiment Light Artillery
This decision was a bold but fortu nate one, made almost against hope, and to the surprise of himself and his
superiors in command he gallantly repelled ever attempt of the enemy to dislodge him or capture his guns, and succeeded in bringing off his entire battery. Its loss was heavy, being 18 men killed and wounded, with 33 horses killed or disabled.
