First Regiment Light Artillery

"There are eleven fortifications here, the principal one, which is situated on College Hill, immediately on the left of the city, is over three thousand feet in length. This fort commands the surrounding country for several miles. The appearance of these fortifications indicated that the enemy must have had at least one hundred pieces of artillery. This Western Manasses, the Gibralter of America, has been taken by Loomis's Battery, accompanied by a regiment of cavalry.
