Civil War Cavalry

Company L moved around the town, while company K charged directly through the streets; but the rebels took to their heels, followed closely by our men for five miles, and we succeeded in capturing six of their number.
"In the afternoon Company L, Captain Brewer, followed the road on which they retreated, and coming again upon them, succeeded in ensnaring four more without sustaining any injury themselves. To-day twenty men from the same companies, while out on a foraging expedition, were attacked by a large force, but held their ground and unsaddled three of the Secesh.
