They have done nobly, for although they have met with but little opposition and have had no serious engagement, yet when they dashed into these places they were unaware of what their reception might be, and in many cases had information leading them to expect to meet a large body of the enemy; and yet they rushed on without hesitation, and with a spirit showing they would give a good account of themselves when they met the enemy.
