Eleventh Regiment Infantry

14th (Thomas's) corps, was warmly engaged at Stone river, losing thirty-two killed, seventy-nine wounded, and twenty-nine missing, including among the killed Lieutenants Thomas Flynn and Joseph Wilson. From Colonel Stoughton's report:
" On the morning of the 31st December heavy firing was heard on our right and front, and apparently rapidly approaching the position occupied by the 2d brigade. The regiment was immediately formed and marched to the brow of the hill near brigade headquarters.
