Michigan Civil War
Eleventh Regiment Infantry
Farther on the march he found the road between the bluffs and the river cut away and obstructed with trees felled across the small bridle path left, so as to prevent the passage of wagons. He removed the obstructions and bridged the road so that his wagons could pass. Soon after the head of the train was again attacked by guerrillas, but he repulsed them, driving them across the river, and the object of the expedition was accomplished.
