On the 6th it marched for Morristown, arriving there on the 8th, and on the 10th was in an engagement at Blue Springs, East Tennessee, but being in the reserve did not become actively engaged, but joined in pursuit of the enemy to Greenville. On the 7th it fell back to Bull's Gap, and on the 19th to Bean's Station. It remained here until the 21st, when it marched to Tazewell, and thence, on the 22d, to within two miles of Cumberland Gap. On the 24th it moved over the line into Kentucky, near the Gap, but on the 1st of December re-crossed the Cumberland mountains and returned to Tazewell, whence it proceeded to Walker's Ford, on the Clinch river, but moved back to Tazewell on the 5th.
