which it reached July 1st. It was here assigned to the 2d brigade, reserve artillery, 4th division, 23d army corps, and continued on service at Knoxville. On December 8th, one section with 25 men, was detached and ordered to Strawberry Plains, to guard the railroad bridge across the Holstein river at that point and on the 10th of April, 1865, it rejoined the battery. The battery continued at Knoxville, engaged on garrison duty until early in August, when it was ordered to Michigan, and arrived at Jackson on the 19th of that month, and on the 22d was mustered out of service.
