Battery I


arriving there on the 17th of March. It remained here until the 28th of April, and reported to General Butterfleld, commanding the 3d division of the 20th army corps, at Lookout Valley. It participated, with the division, in the events of the ensuing Georgia campaign. At Cassville, on the 19th of May, it engaged the enemy's rear, but without loss. Resuming the march on the 23d, it crossed the Etowah river on the same day. One section engaged the enemy at New Hope Church, on the 27th, and the entire battery was engaged on the 28th, with the loss of one in wounded on the latter date.
