Battery E
This
section was engaged with the enemy at Coosa July loth, and at Cheraw on the 20th.
The battery was serving in Tennessee, and was stationed at Nashville November 1, 1864, except one section which was on duty at Springfield. In December it was attached to the 4th Army Corps, and in that month it participated in the defense of Nashville, against the attack of the rebel General Hood on that point, where it gained an enviable reputation in that important battle, and was engaged in pursuing his forces on their retreat southward.
