11th Cavalry
ELEVENTH REGIMENT CAVALRY.

The llth Cavalry was rendezvoused at Kalamazoo being recruited and organized under the superintendence of Colonel Simeon B. Brown of St. Glair, Major 6th Michigan Cavalry.
The recruitment of the regiment commenced in August, 1863, it being mustered into the United States service on December 10th following, having on the muster rolls 921 officers and men.
